I keep coming back to this ridiculously simple 3 Ingredient Party Punch because it feels like a secret trick that scores every time. I throw together cranberry juice cocktail with chilled lemon lime soda and people ask what I did different, like I discovered some party magic.

It’s great for birthday parties and baby showers, and honestly its a total Kid Friendly Party Punch so parents can actually relax instead of hovering. I wont pretend it’s fancy, just bright, fizzy and dangerously easy.

If you like quick wins that feel like clever hacks, try it once and see how fast it disappears.

Ingredients

Ingredients photo for Easy Punch Recipe

  • Cranberry juice cocktail: tart and sweet, has vitamin C but usually lots of added sugar.
  • Frozen orange juice concentrate: rich in vitamin C and natural sugars, little fiber.
  • Lemon lime soda: very sweet, bubbly and calorie dense, adds fizz and simple carbs.

Ingredient Quantities

  • 1 (64 fl oz) bottle cranberry juice cocktail
  • 1 (12 fl oz) can frozen orange juice concentrate thawed
  • 1 (2 liter) bottle lemon lime soda chilled (Sprite or 7Up)

How to Make this

1. Put the 12 fl oz can of frozen orange juice concentrate in the fridge to thaw a few hours, or microwave in 10 to 15 second bursts until pourable, stirring between bursts so it doesnt splatter.

2. Chill the 64 fl oz bottle of cranberry juice cocktail and the 2 liter bottle of lemon-lime soda ahead of time so the punch stays cold and fizzy.

3. If you hate watered down punch, pour a couple cups of the cranberry juice into ice cube trays and freeze them the day before, that way the ice wont dilute the flavor.

4. In a large punch bowl or big pitcher, pour in the 64 fl oz cranberry juice cocktail.

5. Add the fully thawed orange juice concentrate to the cranberry juice and whisk or stir vigorously until it’s smooth and evenly mixed.

6. Taste the mixture and tweak with a little more cranberry or orange concentrate if you want it sweeter or tangier, just remember the soda will mellow things out.

7. Right before serving, slowly pour in the chilled 2 liter lemon-lime soda to keep as much fizz as possible, then give one gentle stir to combine.

8. Add the cranberry juice ice cubes or regular ice, ladle into cups and serve immediately, keeping extra soda chilled so guests can top off their glasses if needed.

Equipment Needed

1. Large punch bowl or big pitcher, about 3 quarts or more
2. Whisk or long handled spoon, to mix the thawed concentrate into the cranberry juice
3. Ladle for scooping and serving
4. Measuring cup for tasting and tweaking the sweetness
5. Microwave safe bowl or small bowl for thawing the orange concentrate if you dont want to wait
6. Ice cube trays for freezing cranberry juice cubes so the punch wont get watered down
7. Can opener to open the frozen concentrate can

FAQ

Easy Punch Recipe Substitutions and Variations

  • Cranberry juice cocktail: swap with pomegranate juice 1:1 for a deeper flavor, it’s tarter so add 1-2 tbsp sugar or a splash of simple syrup if needed.
  • Frozen orange juice concentrate: use an equal volume of fresh squeezed orange juice or bottled orange juice instead, the punch will taste brighter, you might need to tweak sweetness.
  • Lemon lime soda: use ginger ale or 7Up equivalent 1:1 for similar fizz and sweetness, or use club soda plus 1/4 cup simple syrup if you want control over sweetness.
  • Lower-sugar option for the soda: use diet lemon-lime soda or plain sparkling water and a little honey or agave to taste, same volume as the original soda.

Pro Tips

– Thaw the orange concentrate in the fridge if you can, but if not zap it in the microwave in 10 to 15 second bursts and stir between blasts so it dont explode or splatter all over the bowl.

– Chill the cranberry and the soda ahead of time, and only add the soda at the very end, pouring slowly and giving one gentle stir so you dont lose the fizz. Keep an extra bottle on ice so folks can top off their cups.

– Freeze a couple cups of the cranberry juice in ice cube trays the day before so the drink wont get watered down as the ice melts, those cubes keep the flavor stronger and look nice too.

– Mix the thawed orange concentrate into the cranberry first and whisk like crazy until it’s smooth, then taste and tweak a little. Remember the soda will mellow things out, so dont over-sweeten before you add it.
